Hundreds of Muslims gathered in Portsmouth Jami Mosque to observe Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (pbuh). The event was organised by the attendees of the mosque.
The first session, from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm, was for the kids. People enjoyed Quran recitation, Islamic songs and short speeches on the different aspects of the life of the Prophet (pbuh) presented by the young boys and girls. Later, all of the participants received prizes for their performance.
In the second session, the 2nd Imam Mawlana Saiful Islam delivered a short speech in Bengali, while the Head Imam Sheikh Muhammad Muhi Uddin talked about the life of the Prophet (pbuh) in English.
In the third session, salawat wa salam and supplication was conducted. And food was served.
There were special facilities for the ladies and many Muslim women attended the event.
